The Trust was established in 1987 and is registered as a Charitable Trust.
Trust Board members are:
David Hall, ChairmanDavid is Marlborough born and educated. He is now retired having been a self employed retailer. David has been a trustee since 1992 and is on his second term as chairman. He is a retired Justice of the Peace and enjoys spending time with his grandchildren, reading, walking and doing Tai Chi.
Peter Kemp, TrusteePeter has been a trustee since 1990. Prior to his recent retirement Peter was a secondary school teacher at the Marlborough Boys College where he was their Careers Adviser actively assisting students to find their vocation.
Gordon James Strang, TrusteeGordon lives in the Wairau Valley and has been a trustee of MEET since 1993. He formerly practiced as a lawyer and then managed the Marlborough Community Law Centre, retiring in 2013.
Alistair Sowman, Trustee
Re – elected for a fourth term as Mayor. Currently a community representative on the Marlborough Primary Health Organisation. He has been a trustee since 2001.
Fran Jessop QSM, Trustee
Now retired, Fran has an extensive knowledge of the community, having served on several local Councils and Trusts. Fran was on the NMIT Council and the Canterbury Community Trust and is currently a trustee of the Blenheim Trust and the Churchill Hospital Trust.
Pete Baker, TrusteePeter has spent 13 years in the Banking industry followed by many years in the hospitality industry. He is currently involved in his own clothing Business and assists with the “Gateway” programme at the Marlborough Boys College.
Elaine Blair, TrusteeMy working life has been in education and health. I have raised a family in Marlborough and Peru.I believe that helping people to gain employment is the catalyst which builds strong communities.
